Holding a lecturer position (Maître de Conférences) in Ecology and Botany I am teaching general and plant ecology for bachelor and master students. My research covers different fields of plant ecology including population biology, community ecology and plant-herbivore interactions. After finishing my PhD in 1996 at the University of Halle (Germany), Institute of Geobotany I was working at the Centre of Environmental Research (UFZ) Leipzig-Halle and at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), Unit of Ecology and Evolution, before starting my position at AGROCAMPUS OUEST in 2008. In 2011, I successfully defended my HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) which is equivalent to the Austrian, German and Swiss habilitation. The subject of my HDR thesis was "the restoration of plant biodiversity - importance of dispersal, seed origin and trophic interactions".
