CIFRE Agreement

For ambitious research projects, a professional may involve a research laboratory in the longer term within the framework of CIFRE agreements.
CIFRE agreements bring together 3 partners, for a period of 3 years, around a research project culminating in a viva voce defending the PhD thesis:

  • a French-registered company, which recruits a young graduate and assigns them a research project with an economic development aspect.
  • a recent graduate, with a qualification equivalent to 5 years of post school-leaving study and wishing to undertake a PhD connected to the business sector, and who will carry out the research project assigned to him or her within a laboratory. The PhD student’s enrolment may take place at AGROCAMPUS OUEST (which is authorised to award the PhD qualification).
  • a research laboratory belonging to a higher education institution, a public research body, a technical centre, an industrial laboratory, etc., which supervises the work of the PhD student.

AGROCAMPUS OUEST may help the business to find a suitable partner laboratory through its involvement in joint research units and its association with the doctoral schools of Life, Agricultural and Health Sciences (VAS), Mathematics, Telecommunications, Data Processing, Signals, Electronic Systems (Matisse), Material Sciences (SDLM), Humanities, Organisations and Social Sciences (SHOS), and Plants, Environment, Nutrition, Agri-food, Sea (VENAM).

Setting up a CIFRE agreement: a simple procedure, a short application, quick assessment times, and a success rate close to 100% all make this a highly effective tool.
