Functional, Behavioural and Evolutionary Ecology
Master's in Biology, ecology, evolution
Master’s program offered jointly by AGROCAMPUS OUEST and Université de Rennes 1.
Presentation
This master's produces elite ecologists of strong national and international renown.
This course is highly original, including as it does the concepts and theory of functional ecology, behavioural ecology and evolutionary ecology. In this way, an integrative culture of ecology is put across at the same time as cutting-edge knowledge in the experimental and analytical field and in data analysis.
As a research-oriented speciality, it prepares students for the completion of a thesis on ecology in the three following areas :
- functional ecology (e.g. ecosystemic, metagenomic diversity/productivity link)
- behavioural ecology (e.g. theory of optimal foraging, chemical ecology)
- evolutionary ecology (e.g. adaptive radiation, phylogenetic differentiation)
Enrolment
Enrolments in 1st year (M1) and 2nd year (M2) take place at Université de Rennes 1.
